MFW 005 | A Mother's Family Wellness Lifestyle Story | Amy Teller

With a degree in Art and Art History from the College of William and May in Williamsburg, VA, Amy spent the majority of her early career working in museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and the University of Michigan Museum of Art in Ann Arbor, MI.

Over the course of her Museum career, she concentrated on the fields of Asian Art, Modern and Contemporary Art, and 19th Century Art, as well as Registrarial work.

She gained experience working with seniors through volunteering with the Elder Life Program at the University of Michigan Health System—which provides patient interventions designed to help maintain cognitive, physical and emotional well-being in hospitalized older patients.

After taking several years off to stay home with her two young sons, she felt Canton Leisure Services would provide the perfect opportunity and foray into the working world.

She began working as a Front Desk Supervisor at the Club 55+ Senior Center in July of 2014 and six months later was promoted to Club 55+ Special Events Coordinator.

Amy brings her love of art and her desire to help people into developing dynamic events and educational programming for Canton’s seniors and adults.
