[1:09] Well this lifestyle so if you're looking for a fishing affected and sustainable ways to elevate your health and the health of your.

[1:16] Music.

[1:21] No for you today christy attended the branch reflex allergies.
Open this michigan before going on to receive her national board certification and reflex allergy for the past two years she has been practicing reflexology add her to implement the old village neighborhood right family let's welcome kristi
welcome families to the interview portion of today's podcast i'm here with cristy home from a hard reflex algún the podcast christie it's so great to have.

[1:50] Three here as you know christine we start out every podcast episode with a few questions to help families and people listening get to know you more so can you tell us,
a little bit of what family looks like for you and what do you love about michigan.

[2:05] Oh ok feel lonely for me my heart my heart it's my comfort zone it's my haven my safe place and.
My biggest cheerleaders and i am their biggest cheerleader psychologist and.
Michigan is gonna be the change of seasons like that little better when they were a little more equal your shirt.
I'm right there with you get a lot on the platform just the changing the diversity of caesar my wife use live in california so it was always not you know it's sixty or seventy degrees and sunny for most the year for our know anyone rain,
just to have that little bit of variety is nice every now and then but hey kristy let's go ahead and just dive right in because i really want people to get value from your expertise your experiences,
and just help people raise the awareness and the educational level.
What exactly is reflexology so that might be a great place to start justin very odd very thirty thousand view,
what is your definition of reflexology ok so the definition i practice the email method and reflexology is a science based on the principles that there are reflect.

[3:16] In the hands feet actually hands feet and ears that correspond with every part of the body every girl and every system every oregon,
so when working on the fee or the hands in essence we're affecting the whole body weight reflects works to do when a not shell is to break up your ic acids,
eureka send a massage breaks a black to SFO reflexology is working on breaking up.

[3:40] Congestion in your gas and by releasing the start congestion in the gap it's not just you against your glasses by product of our kidneys.
I was having trouble accessing with the hands and feet being for this from the heart this is lowest areas of circulation so things get.
Who stop there so congestion can also be some scar tissue it can be some calcium build up and there can be like the gas.
But by working that congestion in a way that go is to increase circulation blood supply an internal balanced systems of the body
i'm here trend by the way reflexology especially being a chiropractor this relates and compliments i think a lot of what a lot of other body workers do so weather someone's and massage therapist
personal trainer or physical therapist a chiropractor working and addressing the feet specifically.
Plays alot into this other modalities other techniques within the health and wellness space so that when i say that as like a foundation of statement like this is
really get what you're doing and if i can get commit and that that's one thing that i love that all of the modalities u just mention
all have in common are the feet up so i wanna actually circle back a little bit to what you're saying because i heard several different components in.
I really wanna just help people die just in the smaller chunks if you well so it seems that you're saying that by working the bottoms of the.

[5:07] There are no logic components to this word there are physical components to this where there is actually visceral components to this working you kinda a,
segment that and just go into a little bit more detail maybe and those different components absolutely absolutely say u touchdown so great areas when you talk about neurological reflexology kan worden help things like anxiety,
depression i personally have had some really good success.
Clients and both those areas of depression and anxiety and lot of people that's a surprise to them how do you do that with the.

[5:44] So that kinda goes to that holds a logical point we can't actually access the spinal.
So an atomic and physical bones of the body we could address this early i've had some great results with people are very very,
the hands and feet for constipation regular what are you saying that you're actually improving how the body functions by working use points in the feet.

[6:12] Gotcha that's remarkable i mean send me that makes complete sense based on my background my education and chiropractic all that stuff but for the purpose averaged a person who is very new to the health and wellness space that my be like.
What never heard that before so i just i was trying to unpack that for them and help them really connect with this in the sense that can you talk about how,
density of nerves cuz i think that's a major component to,
how does mechanisms of work so as i understand that there is a huge density of nerves and extra monies specific your feet have over seventy two hundred nerve endings in the bottom of each foot excuse me umm.
That's a lot of nerve ending so you can imagine
what are the take every day we get up we stuff them in tissues lot of stuff them until fitting shoes and we stock around all day
and then we get in the bed with do it again the next day he without much even thought about when i feed.
It goes through with reflexology getting into the reflex points with reflexology we're actually is a salmon finger.
Raul it's alternating pressure so unlike a massage we're not pushing or needing where can i fly yes.

[7:35] Don't cry alternating pressure works like a little hammer a little mail it if you will go in there and find and breakup those areas of stock congestion,
again stop congestion being said maybe scar tissue build up so im doing that that's way more.

[7:55] Pink when did areas were getting at the new wood everyday um.
Just stuff in your shoes so i can clarify their can i just generally stay yes i know if someone is going to receive the muscular massage work perhaps either soft tissue therapists.
Baby familiar with working out of sugar in a tight muscle or working out hyper titanic band within a muscle fibre.
Now when i hear you saying is using a different kind of techniques different pressures know you talked about that as being category different from what a,
muscular therapist my be doing is that correct that's correct ok yes having a different kind of affect on the nearest system cuz there are holes in the feet.

[8:39] It's not like you're going and you're trying to find titles in the feed which i'm sure you do find however it seems that you are addressing you actually using you know it you have your charts here today with you
using the charts you're using this art and science of reflexology influence nervous reflect,
tub and have that be the focus of the treatment rather than,
hey can i release some when's tight fit muscle correct okay that being said the account going in lime with more of a orthopedic approach that wasn't my questions here too its like your seeing people that had.

[9:15] Planter if he is that have heel spurs and bone spurs and things like that is that primarily with people are initially coming or perhaps give people a better idea,
what they're presenting west as their chief complaint for example no i'm glad you brought it up because later fatass is one common thing that i see it also kinda miss no more that,
problem or issue or foot pain to come to a reflexology so i would like to disc spelled that right now that again this applies to the whole body,
bot.
Play if it is a perfect example of something that reflects sala ji can help with very quickly i'm from what i've seen in a what is the experience with my clients sometimes really within the first session,
and if you follow up sessions no more pain got some really good experiences with that and get lot of people coming with the planter fish is diagnosis if you well,
and they got it kind of in mind that this is some big horrible thing platters the bottom.
Vaduz the connectivity issue and assist information that's all we're talking about is information of the connecting tissues so going in there and working it's like the adrenal.

[10:32] Instance adrenal responsible for all information so pain of any kind in the body not just foot pain not just plan of ideas where go to work the adrenal reflects so i'm not just working.
What area for one specific issue.
Those areas is also adrenal and a be something that come up a lot for people and obviously far reaching people have arthritis people have pain aux all different kinds of beneficial is but ive,
is a state and there's been great results with anxiety and depression vertigo headaches digestion,
i'm asking your brother field type issues shoulder neck back pain a week and it covers the gamut min again it.
Trying to clear up working to clear up congestion congestion in the.
I want everything you just said makes so much sense again as a chiropractor if this is a huge deal because we see a lot of people with low back pain you talked about the in-network that same fashion network as you know it is consistent with the bottom of the.

[11:41] Is connected all the way throughout your entire body specifically that post to shame that runs up the back of a cafe in your hamstring in your pelvis and low back.
So specifically by working the feed by rolling the fee i love the way you give patients your clients that little ball to have them actually rolled the bottoms of their feet.
That plays a major role in helping to unlock network especially if they have any kind of a low back pain contacts so
yeah if i can get the address that with low back pain a lot of you probably see a lot of people that come and talk about scientific cya come i say no can i go back,
no no that comes through the low back to the sacred down the back of the leg it connect
i'm bottom of the hill on the welcome and there is a riff is not just a reflection of where this is actually catches on the bottom with a friend who no amount of my phone pressure is gonna equal your heel
you know he okay but that isn.

[12:42] Relieves soo much that tightness of the back of the bag and low back and exactly why i started giving the ball when people leave,
because that is a wonderful place to run to relieve we do so much sense who can bring in standing but not moving in so that ball is exactly why i do,
alert sya lupa is one of the real big ones that needed referrals that that can address.
Yeah so great play me a few listening if you struggle with siapa kah any kind of low back pain para formas syndrome any kind of discrimination contacts that would contribute to sach.
What chris talking but here it will actually put these are some of the charts up on our website at michigan family womens dot com you guys can check other units there and see what you're talking about.

[13:28] Exactly yeah she just describe that's a degree flex right across the bottom of the spelling there.
Fantastic place to see reflexology just to have that work done but then also roll that with the ball news lacrosse spot i love your green little balls that you have for your patience and clients there.
There's just the time difference is people can use to really help.
Bad information and context and he really can you tell us about the waist line and how we find our own individual ways.
Yes is the body is represented on the feed that's everything so if you are a person or a high waisted person is your weight waist line reflects line is going to be.
No a different spot is one GB the same as it would be on your body on your person and so if you run that you're still no outside of your.

[14:20] You will go along the fifth and as it dances you're so kind of drops off and that little curve on the outside we will add your.

[14:30] That's gonna follow that straight across the foot that is your waist line guideline reflect.
What's important about that is what goes right across the areas that transverse colon so did you just look at a lot of the church that you see ion umm if you google charts whatever a lot of people think its half way.
Well for me i'm short i am a very low waist my waist line is only about a third of the way up my foot for my heel,
so if i was going half way i'd be working on,
reflections of you well if i was trying to access the digestive system so that's a nice nice nice of guideline to know what you're doing when you're looking at.

[15:12] So i hear you saying is there's this concept bio individuality and we can apply these landmarks if you well with our own shit.
Savannah really make sure that were hitting the right for that individual person yes there is and there's actually four major guidelines,
because aside from the waist line very important right there's also the diaphragm line that sync easy one to find out more even visually when your finger down,
because it's just underneath the ball of your foot most of us the ball of the flight is a little bit darker in color maybe a little orders little red and sticks out is that.
I'm just under that range you find the diaphragm which then starts to help you pinpoint just like the body what organs are.
Are in that area between the waist line and the diaphragm was involved with my breathing then.
Correct locat correct and then if you pull the big back will expose the main tendon running down.
And then there are things that i need to order towards specific towards the inside of the blood and organs that fall flat.

[16:25] Boost three and very helpful and pin pointing areas of the body just a recap you said that was the waist fine but one of them the diaphragm line guy who was the third one.
No the big the hole in the big back in the end and that tendon on the bottom of your foot okay well pop yeah that's okay and so you have things like the adrenal reflect.
Medial to that are ok i am and things like the kidneys can just let of that.
Those guidelines are are helpful and important when trying to really pinpoint certain reflections light in the brilliant word of us,
are you a mother of three flex already he brings it all the way down to find the hurt and work it out.

[17:36] Music.

[17:51] Reserve a great point is there were these charts come from kristi is.
Founder are your something like i can anyone can go in the google and search for reflexology charts right how does someone know that they're actually looking.
Incredibles good yards that actually relate to this reflects vs just picking up charley off of google i'm just kinda going with that
how do i know if i'm actually getting good information will come from my school branch reflects allergy in my chart based on the units in the message,
but in the middle of my chart is one very specific these are all copyrighted to my school um.

[18:32] The picture in the middle is what is super you need to add to the smart phone that can and um.
What's wonderful about it when you say how are the feet representative how is the body suits me represented on the bottoms.

[18:47] Beautiful about this charge is a few we have one body but.

[18:52] These to feed coming together and overlapping at the big twelve image in the middle.
Is a beautiful film amp if you will adjust how well the body and how full the body is represented on the bottoms.
This is unique fodmap to brand reflex allergy and i think does a beautiful job in showing hands and feet.
Have the same reflects on them but the hands are obviously she to much differently there we prefer areas to each other and if you came in for instance i had a meeting with who is 90.
I want to book a manny so it can't work on my right foot.
I worked on his right hand so we left but right hand did both hands referral areas are just hands and feet.
Arrests relate to our ankles knees relate to our elbows and hips relate to our shoulders lol referral areas.
It's like you read my mind right now cuz that was actually my next question ways hey is this just about defeat so you are actually saying that,
we have in our hands due to the high density of nerves your hands as well so that the other areas along just marcel from the feet and the hands mention the knees are there other area
will ears are another another reflexology but you cant you cant access when i mention the nice there are places on the.
I'm but there will.

[20:19] Where you can access the new reflects if you will the have reflects the leg but you can work in certain areas on the body that.
Find two others so that's what i was talking about
knees and elbows relating to each other kristin have you heard of him he is diagram that shows on the brain and then the person and the entire body is coming over laid,
with the different parts of the brain this is something that we were tied for my training as a chiropractor,
search this whole idea that if i feel something in my right arm in my right hand,
that is gonna map out my brain with my upper front left side front motor record text if you were that friend to submit a century court.

[21:06] Okay that's it so then they discharged him and gave us is if you will that shi how that is represented
and so when i see charts like that it makes me think of these reflexology charts with the hands and feet just from like a submit a century perspective when compared to more reflexology perspective wolf
actually have some of those resources for you guys to add the notes for their website and everything as well but i think that guy to skip a little bit more understanding,
what were we talking bout in canada how do you work on a mechanical level
can you tell us loose more about the years and how that works are you treating on the ears are you mostly doing feed hands what's that i mostly do feet and hands and feet and hands is what my.
Location is an AMX where is what i learned from my limited information i did,
ears it's something i'm very interested in but not something that i am currently prepped.
Could you hear about a regular acupuncture all the time you hear about or regular u. reflexology self that can provide a lot of value for people there as well i can tell you in a very elementary basic way.

[22:19] Feel yours put your fingers their in afghanistan words find the hurt and and work it out here um during the webinar when i was interested.

[22:29] Taking your thumb and first finger index finger and and feeling around yours from top to bottom while being at your low,
amazing done by someone else even more amazing than you do to yourself does as you know i know that she is doing great yes but what you will find if you start to use the tips of your failure index finger and your thumb.
Can you really slowly walk through your ear.
All around the year you will probably find areas where there is maybe what we call little crunchy a little tender and sore spot.

[23:07] Bulls,
just like areas on the feed those areas of congestion other areas we can work out and whether or not you know what you're working out the good point is your working out congestion
sure no it's cases like you're not gonna hurt yourself like this is very low risk don't the one the one thing i was saying very very important in school and over and over again you never go past the good hurt
can't hurt yourself with anything if you go past the good hurt,
and what is the good heart that her different to everybody but you don't want to be holding your breath out how i can handle it.

[23:42] It's not the good hurt the body is done in crisis mode your tents you're not going to receive what you need from it.
But if you've ever had a massage and you gotta not specially when you're back we'll have an somebody's working it it's bad yes that's tender.
Keep going because you're working it out that's the good work it out awesome love it,
have you heard of this ad is a woman is pregnant that there are certain points on the feet that you may want to stay away from his day made
start things like that what's your thought what's your professional opinion i have actually gone to a continuing education weekend class at branch on labor and delivery,
so not specific to what you said as far as avoid this was more specific to what to work when somebody yes it is is in labor or is,
maybe struggling to move label along how can it is fascinating i personally haven't been able to help someone who i haven't had a pregnant client yet the story that i heard from my teachers at branch,
pretty amazing pretty amazing so there's a lot of benefit value that pregnant women can derive reflexology treatment.

[24:58] During pregnancy postpartum all of that so yeah i actually i am working someone postpartum,
can you tell me more about the bermuda triangle cristiano that's like your trademarks and tell us more about that cuz i found that really interested i got my teachers are crazy when they hear me say
say that it was something i just a fling that phrase only because it's three things right three things make up a triangle,
the right foot specifically on the plant i robot inside of the right foot just above the waist the guideline wayside reflects just above that transverse colon,
where we have the doing know more do some people say i call it the sink drain the bottom of the stomach and then right behind that we have the tail end of the pancreas.

[25:47] And just above that we have the adrenal glands and ate some it's a very common area i find congestion on people.
And there's a lot going on in those areas lately we haven't touched it all and emotional because yeah but the other half of my training and began branch my class was even called the body talk
our body stores emotions in different places different organs and
when you think about this and things dreaming from the stomach are still emotions is all about hard time putting feelings into words that is a lot of people out of people that hold on the thing and so that sink drain be right there,
the pancreas is our main group centre all grief rama.

[26:29] Drama is where that store in the pancreas and what we have found that i have found specifically working in client,
even though most of the pancreas reflect is located on the left side.

[26:42] The little tail end of it seems to be where a lot of soda and out with grief mother grief and loss hangs out you got that right there with that.
Drain of the stomach.
And then right above the adrenal responsible for all information adrenal know very much stress related and a lot of people here the terminal and really fifty we do not diagnose with reflexology would prescribe it we dont treat,
for a particular illness really you hear that over and over again with the lifestyles we leave so when you will see those three.
I just have to clean the phrase the bermuda triangle because it is sort of this mystery spot whenever something is inflamed or congested it's going to get maybe larger in size and so.
When that area is congested and there's three things so close together it could be all three or just one that's why it's sort of a ministry like the bermuda triangle i say sometimes until.
Existe some information to then start seeking to look at some secondary reflects this to see if we can pinpoint is this morning.
Issue is this morning adrenal issue is this more pancreas and all of those.
Go right about uber liberal reflects which is huge biggest organ right and takes up a very large amount on the right.

[28:01] So liver no surprise as we are angered it stored and a lot of us im done alot of things whenever it's got little over five hundred.
Oh gosh jobs what does the liver not doing good and also able to take over.
For other things that aren't working for instance when you're gallbladder was taken out,
does springs have a great plan christie as a chiropractor one of the things that i like to say you keep in the back of my mind the issues are in the tissues is something that we say,
so when i just the people before ive adjusted your low back are there just burst into tears are they just have this big huge amount of laughter come out of them,
have you had people when they're in your cherry you find a spot that you're working on and all of a sudden i have this just emotional response tells more about that i love that question because yes
i did man in fact the first time it happened i was still in school and it was still a practical i was working on.
And it was surprising to me but also a beautiful example.

[29:03] How the body stores in motions since being in my practice i have seen it probably at least five times twelve,
i should say maybe ten maybe more where people do and not so much but all the sudden.
And not necessarily knowing why and as we sort of.
What reflects is working on getting a little bit more of the story comes out about what's going on life so i am a big believer that the physical body is the emotional body.

[29:34] Yeah i want to circle back here to going back to our discussion on the density of nerves going back to kentucky or logical contacts what i'm saying here on the charts and our discussion on the roof access all of these organs.
Are involved with our digestion or all of them are involved with digestion so that makes me think is a chiropractor i am super involved with the vegas nerve.

[29:59] And that being our primary source of our paris sympathetic nervous system.
What is your working the bottoms of the feet heater christie im sure people are feeling,
quiet calm quite relaxed here like some gardening understand you know hear some paris diocesan things like that where they might have i'm sure you'll receive texts like i had a great night's sleep,
oh my gosh of your session i had to go find a bathroom because like it was moving does that you just quoted several things that i here,
when really they example of it as if i have someone coming in and i can tell right off the bat from the way they walk in the door that is just stressful day or that they.
Just kind of exhausted i am immediately when they said i will start working the diaphragm reflects and you won't visible and are edible,
how the breathing changes very quickly as we start working the diaphragm reflected in AMEX you know is the first place we carry stripes we just.
Take a deep breath and when you mentioned the biggest nerds and amazing in every ones family with the cyan or being largest number in the body the biggest nervous the second largest i don't,
no there's no more conversation about it i'm it actually something that we access more on the doors or top side of the.
No with reflexology and this isn't set in stone what the bottle of the.

[31:24] I'm genuinely relates to the end of the internal and back of the body post your where is the suicide the front of the flight is more the front or anterior of the body and self calming down the head
you know that vegas nerve sort of almost on the side as viewed from the ears down the throat and so we access it more down.
Tell me to calm coming down okay great ok.
Yeah and i love how there is a vegas or also crack me from running back talk about this a lot in my own lecture so in the year.

[31:57] Send this is actually a branch in vegas nerve that comes out from the brain stem and you can actually find that by just basically taking your finger,
i'm going kinda right in the center of your there and you'll actually start to influence part of the vegas nerve that is actually talked with a friend if you will and he was trying to use a tens unit,
helps stimulate the vegas nerve off from my regular perspective and i thought that was brilliant that being said everything we can do to influence our vegas nerve to fire that vegas nerve to stimulate of vegas and la going to be a good thing,
as it relates to our digestion to our para sympathetic nervous system we talk to live here in the office about arguing with water,
we talk about the gag reflex we talk about how many singing in the shower at you know what you're driving around the car things like that.
Very very good vegas nerve functions and then of course chiropractic adjustments the cervical adjustment still adjustments very good for the,
vagas nerve there and that's it.

[32:57] Well what makes you different what makes you different from the average if i just out there tell us more about that well
there are a lot of us out there if you look directly the nationally certified ones if i'm graduation invite away thank u yes thank u one thing that i've heard i haven't
so i can give back leads turn on my fellow students at branch,
but in my everyday world when people come to my office and one of the first questions on the intake form is have you ever received refund.

[33:34] Most of the time the answer is no it is still even know what it's been around for thousands of years and just reserved in the united states in the last hundred.

[33:44] Most people.

[33:46] Either of never heard of it or never experienced it but with the ones that say yes or i think i have the difference but i hear is.

[33:55] I'm not sure if i had reflects that you're not i get one of two things in their on opposite ends of the spectrum.
When is it was more like a foot massage.
No no wrong with the foot massage by any means and feels wonderful life but not really it's not reflect sala ji or ipad the opposite yes and they hurt me i've heard some stories that they obviously went,
good heard that's definitely not the email method and not the method.

[34:23] And it is not supposed to be in flipping that kind of pain again they are tender spots deathly can be tender.
That's the biggest thing is i haven't run into anybody.

[34:38] Most people most my clients have not even experienced reflexology before and i would say aside from that.
Staying within the good hurt and doing the alternating pressured not just massage.
Also is the emotional body meditating coming from ranchi to the think or parade and i would say that is something that.

[35:01] Is branch students is emotional body.
Why with everything you just said enough could add to it as well as experience to work and i would just like to say that it's all about the experience you have a fantastic atmosphere a great experience.
Your supporting people with those little green bottles that you have you have an awesome space your chair is fantastic i doubt people are experiencing bad.
Caliber of a chair when they're receiving reflexology you have essential oils going the entire experience,
is really caring towards having that person received a healing treatments thank you yes thank you no seems to be the feedback that i guess so.
You can answer that one better than ok thank you hey guys just wanted to take a moment and remind you that this podcast is brought to you by the michigan family womens clinic,

alright guys let's get back to today's episode.

[36:23] What is this get to your question i have i wanna talk about your opinions on foot wearing shoes and orthopedic you have any professional ones but even as like a free animal to that i got into the whole,
fascination with feet when i was going through a phase in my life when i was all about running so i love by peter locomotion i like to call it i love barefoot running down the minimalist for wear that out there,
christie use to have terrible band syndrome in my right knee,
because i was wearing new shoes that had a big can he make an hour is he striking all the way through that first miles second third mile by the time i will get to that fits in my run,
you would just be so unbearable i would have to stop i could go further than five miles.
Seven i got plugged into chris nick dirk call doctor markers lol we interviewed on the podcast here previous episode to a girl,
and we haven't the whole idea that barefoot running style basically this whole idea of getting off your heels having more of a medford or of strike.
Using the grand design that is our flight's and helping us move forward from the natural perspective,
do you have any major opinion on light two people ask you about what kind of shoes or sandals nation where you know you know this season changing so the summer is coming up i wanna buy some new sandals.

[37:47] Do people ask you about that do people ask you about your thoughts and insert send the thing hello and i never want to go outside of my own.
It is i am a reflexology just i am not a foot doctor.
What's the one thing that we did learn in school and that i am experienced personally just like you when you're running people have a misconception that,
she is good
that could she come back dribble shoes on and i don't want it that i don't want to call out any specific brand in mind we put them and would like this company could she atmosphere the problem is when you talk about that he's striking then somehow we straight talk.

[38:27] Who is she the body and absorbing that shock from the ground and the heel strike is a hard strike.
And what you want it's not you wanna walk around in cardboard but good quality.

[38:42] Firm bottom shoes because the fur robot is what's going to die,
not your hands not your knees now your hands and the rest of your body you a man so you know if there are there are a lot of issues out there that some people think look.

[39:00] Like they're not going to be comfortable with they don't have a nice pink baltimore that he hasn't signed the NDA yet if you give them a try you will see first hand that shock absorption is what third what that reminder list.

[39:14] My personal thought with that is a lot of people just have really high fee can we talk about this whole idea being polar and gigli,
so polar being negative because our bodies electrical we have to use electricity for the patient communication but they have to be so.
Give me you can have big muscles you can be fit and all that.
Specially with button the feed your feet have to be pleasurable like they have to be flexible and so if you have a really stiff.
Type feed i think people are drawn towards those mark the shoes because they just feel better and i do recommend more of a
flat for it i loved it zero dropped contacts for a lot of shit companies out there can sexually is generally think of orthopedics and inserts the way that i think i pharmaceutical medications like okay sure,
if it helps take the pain away for a short period of time and it helps is functioning get through particular.
Contact weather we're everyday life are walking around a lot of that part of your experience but ultimately longterm i want to strengthen those muscles of the feet,
i want to break out those special occasions and i want that person to be able to put on a shoe with out having to use a.

[40:37] Quote on quote crash oven inserted or north austin that being said i do wana just recommend a couple of things that people looking to serve evil barefoot shoes.
Fantastic shoes nice wide tail back to talk about how that is need to spread out i see the little things that you where in between your toes to help cannot read things out cause a lot of people just all,
techcrunch disrupt together so that's really important for the motion of the towels.
And also while you're dropping the wide toe box are the two big things to look for when it comes to selecting like functional foot where is what i would call it if people.
I am looking for a specific kind of orthopedic inserts than.
Again this is my just i've had good results from patients using this particular platform is called pro towels.
And it's actually an on line based thing where you can plug in some of your measurements and it doesn't get super technical like a podiatrist or ortho it's not gonna be that expensive.

[41:37] And it's also at the same time not something like off the shelf from the nearest drug store or meyer kroger whenever my beelike a doctor charles take things so if there is a spectrum from like super expensive.
Orthopedic from your podiatrist and on the other end of that super cheap and very accessible from the corner drug store.
When this product challenge recommendation what kind of be like in the middle so i have found that patients get some good results from that but then again same concept we still want to have the long-term plan,
to be or eventually transitioning away from that through the conservative care into more of just regular flat shoe if you well so.
This is a little bit off that but when you turn them out short term vs long term in transitioning,
one thing i would like to touch on with reflexology is i'm jealous is there something i have a lot of people that will say though you didn't get my pedicure before i came i'm sorry bout life.
And my first information to them.
Okay this is do not come from the outside of the body can come from the inside that is our body's way of saying they're protecting this reflects something something needs.

[42:51] And people go to get pedicures they get them shave them all that goes to your point that it's temporary because what happens they grow right back in the exact same spot and ok its not like a blister,
or is it something from your shoe rack being re feet rubbing a new pair of shoes.
Canvases are the body's way of protecting that reflects on the nice thing with reflexology and it doesn't happen in one session but reflex allergies.
Start to soften those canvases rachel so that the cal eventually go away and we are able to even get into that reflects.
Spend protecting underneath.

[43:32] Don't come mad so unlike a temporary fix pedicure to shave it off sure this snow has done two things because it will come back but we also gotten into the reflect.
Crying for help you always and reflexology christina was not i was a commercial photographer for years.
Where did you go from being a photographer i'd love to hear the story doing photography into reflexology
i put it in a nutshell it has been a bit of a lifetime journey as everybody story is but i had some major digestive issues about twenty years ago um diagnosed with ulcerative colitis i say diagnosed
because i did have it i no longer have it um and the traditional.
Medical route did not work for me and not just me and a personal and emotional level physically my body did not respond to medications and that and a traditional.
Care for alternate collided.
So i was referred to you on that was my first experience with chiropractic twenty some years ago started learning more about nutrition and just started questioning and opening my mind to many things.

[44:42] Reflexology was one that was introduced to me by a massage therapist two just had maybe a saturday class and reflexology but it's.
Me and so i started looking up parts i bought some books in it was something always on the side and then so roof.
Happy four years ago really started have my own reflection on who you with.
It was amazing over this period of the year the different areas of my body that responded to reflexology everything from weight loss to hormone issues to sleep issues and shoulder issues.
And it just really cab calling me you know that little boys just wont stop also can i ask my reports allergies how do you get into this where did you go to school drive a school night one investigated branch.
And when is investigated it i sign up and i was on my way so first and the rest is history.

[45:38] That's a great story i just love everything your doing i'm really excited to bring me on the platform in the podcast here today.

[2:05] How is my pleasure to be here to thank you tonight for having you know so great to hear you speak a couple weeks ago actually over here in plymouth michigan where you spoke at the conference and.
I was just really excited with your presentation and to myself you know what we gotta bring this guy on the podcasting.
Tell everyone more about the conversation because ive been having that conversation with our patients at the clinic a lot and i was like man let's just make it simple podcasting.
Reach more people with this great information.
How about before we go there we always start with q question just to get people more comfortable with the person you were talking to sell.
Dok kuantan the family wellness podcast what does family look like for you.
Why are prayers play my family is my wife of my son he's in high school he'd sag.
He's a great kid add um my wife and i been married for twenty five years um.
And almost bring it to a uh oh.
A medical point of you family to me is connected tissue family to me if.

[3:22] You are your brother your sisters your cousins your uncle's with alot of family i grew up on the east coast but somehow we all migrated,
over to california and our get together or are somewhere in the range of about forty to forty five people and it's warm.
It's it's fine it's it's communication and i don't know where i would be with my family.

[3:49] Roland that is awesome iv never been doing this for awhile now ive never had someone to have that response with family is connected tissue so that's great i love it.
Very good makes me think of you hold polar thing which i have stolen by the way i hope you don't accept i love that.
I wanted to get out there and i want people to think of it in the end in how ever i wear makes it simple for,
conversations to occur brilliant awesome so the second question we always asked her dog as you know we love michigan so we're all about the meeting,
in fact we say that we are smitten with the mittens that so maybe i know you're out there and california you know it's always sunny just having a good time and i think you mentioned you're from the east coast but is there anything that you loved about the great state of michigan,
is spoken in michigan a couple times and without a doubt that warms the earth and the people yeah.
Yeah lol went went when i had an opportunity to speak with people are in between the seminars um.

[4:55] How warm and how kind people up rn um how clearer you know there's that,
for some reason michigan seems to be there,
what nis of the east coast with the kindest of the midwest express eh kinda mellow though i always have a great time,
how many and enjoying meeting new people from that area that's awesome awesome love thanks so much for that i would really appreciate gary just loves michigan so much is in my fan of california i need it out there,
you got friends out there in san francisco and all that so it's always a good time with me about their.

[5:34] Um let's jump into the meat potatoes hear me talk food today like i said,
add the doc and found myself having this conversation with alot of patience lately and i wanted to just try and bring some clarity to this over arching concepts umbrella if you well,
wizkid and i love the way you break it down i was watching a few of your metal jacks videos and webinar that you've done and gotten to hear you speak a couple weeks ago,
and i really wanted to jesse baby steps through justin number of components and bring some clarity again back to that you talked about,
where does michigan and there's a few how can we really.
Apply the lifestyle or really wherever that person happens to be at a lot of our listeners are you know.

[6:26] Mother's parents husbands wives that sort of thing so i really think there gonna mostly fall into that lifestyle hello if you want you have i love your for pillows by the way which will get into i think there are some people who may want like,
what if i wanna adapters for performance what if i wanna work with a functional medicine doc or you know someone like that for more of a clinical type thing,
to help with releasing what no other health goals that we might have things of that nature so,
i think to start out with an also by way of introduction i love this idea of not only watching what we eat in terms of what's going into our system,
then also the timing of when we eat i think she is really profound you can really do some cool things with that.

[7:14] That doesn't really cost me money like i want these things would just like if you can.
The timing of your intake of your calories you can surely bio had some really awesome of physiology adaptation sell what's your start from the top can you just let us know.
When we talk about keto so what is a hackathon or acute own body so just.
Yes you are we talked about the diet were talking about number one i'm using your key tones for future alerts on.
Um
I'll say it how i know and then i'll turn it around into a way that we can remember but damn a keystone is a water molecule that.
Convert or is converted from fat to a keto nobody in the liver.

[8:13] Show what were able to do is we're able to take facts.

[8:19] No VR liver convert that into account when body that keystone body ben convert into a form of a few lol.

[8:29] I hate that can then be tried to the mitochondria.
Feed the sell to feed our muscles to feed almost pretty much every organ in the body,
so what keto body is a different form of fuel there we have been taught which is essentially just been we've got carbs without proteins,
we've got fat working on essentially come from fat um.
Protein breakdown amino acids car will break down into glucose but a potentially with your metabolism them,
we are we are breaking them down into getting those fat into the cell so we can use that energy so a different form of energy gotcha okay what is fundamentally coming.
From the tab end of absolutely and that occur and are liver.

[9:28] Yes correct oh OK there's not another oregon or to you that.
Does genesis mix coupons from line of predominantly in the liver and then those keto bodies get into the blood stream and can get to any tissue.
Ok so i eat some fat they go to my liver my liver makes keystone so that's a good point so if i leave is not really healthy.
Are we gonna be very official not making sent the sizing these key tones.
Exactly right you it's very very difficult sell when will we hear about,
maybe some adult de barriers of the kids that die it or help people having a hard time getting into ketosis then i will always look at god and liver issues
are going through some sort of detox vacation and what that means is if we can break fats down to use this bot,
they will then be stored.
So we are storing fat you're burning fat we are not doing both so if we are having a hard time.

[10:40] Losing fat.
Weather it's from day to day lives weather it's from a diet weather is from a very specific type of exercise.

[10:54] We have to look at what what we called,
metabolic flexibility our bodies ability to not only burn carbohydrates but body's ability to burn and break down fats into these very very specific.
Molecules to use for energy i'm taking some notes de k i'm learning more even just talking yourself.

[11:20] I really wanna break this down or less nervous again breaking things down pat intended right,
i'm sorry i hate these facts but then you said i have to break down the fat so my okay what how do we break down those fat so,
why pacers come to mine so vile from gallbladder isn't fire that i am also of the fats.
I forget if our liver and gallbladder not functioning well then i can be breaking down those fat soundtrack,
where tracking and if if u remember when we were speaking and we talking about the concept heard new trait reserved efficiency.
If someone is love in cold.
If someone is low enough that all if someones genetically has a aaa county,
are there any deficiency where where can i have a hard time breaking things down know what someone's genetic propensity so far,
and then there for from their knowing what kind of nutrients that person need me.
Choose improved fat metabolism.

[12:35] Right and i love that you're also a chiropractor because is luv chiropractic adjustments but then i love how we can talk about the neurology like you mentioned the vegas nerve in your lecture here to.
So that makes me go into a whole discussion as well for always chronically stressed out what she even say you know we're not abusing alcohol like destroying my liver were eating organic food and being healthy body for always stressed the meeting have a good,
output to our vegas nerve.
Van digestion and the release of his life showcases and from the gallbladder to break down the fat that's gonna be a wash.
So we're either in fight or flight sympathetic stress where we're running away from tigers.

[13:21] Enable running away from tigers are body really doesn't care about metabolism and breaking down our foods so for.
What's your point we need to regulate that paris empathetic are the vegas nerve runs straight from the brain to the god,
if there's any kind of inflammation in the gut we're gonna have some sort of um,
emergency response sent to the brain the brain is then going to regulate the the HBO access type of pituitary adrenal access so sympathetic nervous system goes a digestion.

[14:02] Ghost that so specific things like,
lumbar adjustments for your call and confirm me back adjustments for digestion like that,
what is in the liver and the gallbladder and do the six for the stomach and even cervical adjustments all of those help with our nervous system,
add it to allow the body to work better and if if the body has all of the other foundation on nutrition.
Add reserves in the body then we just got out of the way and we laughed about it do what its supposed to rant silly love it bro and i love how just within the first question and we were already like miles away from,
how should i plan where we started but the kind of bring it back so ok at not perfect world an ideal healthy situation so i'm fat,
they are going to my system i'm not stressed so i can breakdown the fat.
And i breakdown and then they go to my liver and my liver is healthy for my liver can do this thing where we bio transforming metabolism the fats in the keto and so now i have keto circulating in my blood.
Right so you can go there.

[15:17] Where they are located once we have a level of bodies between point five and three point eight million,
that that's the beautiful window there but we often want to get about point five we are in a state of ketosis.

[15:37] And specifically nutritional nutritional ketosis perfect okay great so both point five and three is kinda the idea window is what your saying i can help people even people even get up into the.
Five point oh are they i haven't seen anything that.

[15:57] Implies that that you're burning more of it,
when is five point help is when it starts getting higher and higher i've heard patients who are men seven point right,
that means that we're not actually were looking at my fatigue where even the kitchen,
are getting into the cell and feeling the mitochondria so that when we start looking at um.
Specifically a nourishing and looking at my account real hell can i so we look at the q ten
zinc magnesium i volume and see for sure of all the things for the crib cycle that we need your gas cycle because we will be able to burn,
and turn those key tones into hey if if it doesn't get into the tissues that we can actually use it,
add that shit is so that very very different.
Then diabetic keto thank you yeah i try to tell people am.

[17:11] Nutritional ketosis is the dose are as similar as nigga to nigga i said and nicotine.
Yo when gunna kill open right so um add.
When we go into keto asad is that is usually a type one diabetic situation because of not producing,
any one at all and over build up of key tones in that can start to cause all the things that you all the,
symptoms of diabetes get dizzy you get with rj is slowing your speed you can pass out you can.

[17:56] You can have kidney failure so you asked this is completely completely different,
okay so is there does the little cheer specified like okay
my blood levels are at three and am working really hard so i got a mugged and maybe a teeny when does that transition between nutritional ketosis.
Add diabetic keto adapted us what i seen is around ten around ten ok yeah,
that's that's the danger so i just try listeners that's when you have such a concentration of keto and bodies in your blood,
that now you're getting away from some of the physiological adaptations that for the everyday individual or even athletes,
u ok now you're doing too much like it's it's it's too much now you're gonna start seeing adverse health effects.
Right no and there's definitely of someone's getting to that point again there something wrong with the mitochondria health what can u connect it to normal blood sugar.
Add to eighty five.

[19:08] I'm blood sugar above one twenty five right ok help warm is busy logically therapeutic and one you are a diabetic you can say the same thing about cholesterol right we need blood sugar,
as a matter of fact when someone is in ketosis there blood sugar is normal.

[19:30] Right so it's not that there is no sugar in the blood all we need some level of,
oh sugar floating around in the blood for t-shirts and i love you said earlier to die in terms of thing some people get with all the hype around the new cool thing in the world.
It's like the ultimate goal here is a different feel sore still ultimately make like you said rc cola.
Which is just our bodies most fundamental basic energy molecule.
And so rather than using glucose to do that i'm.
What were you use the keto body so i just think that's a very fundamental paradigm shift thing for a lot of people is like i'm doing this so i can just have a different energy source.
I want what i would say is that damn over doing is we're bringing ourselves back.
To where we were healthy when we if we pay carbs and carbs and whey protein brand protein and fat.
We burn fat and because of our standard american diet are sad diet in this day and age with all of the preserve videos and how that throws off our metabolism.
It's a very very difficult now too.

[20:56] To be able to have that metabolic what's the melody of being able to burn what ever used
hey guys just wanted to take a moment and remind you that this podcast is brought to you by the michigan family wellness clinic,

alright guys let's get back to today's episode yeah so going back to you ok so the rest he turns in my blood.
And i'm trying to get a bob at point five level there between that point five in.
How do i know that i'm there or is that is that something may be you know play with that you can kind of feel what i think you're saying in terms of like you feel this mental clarity,
you just can't like how many energy of you will like the app for the person you've never done so i actually wanted to do with myself.

[22:09] Is there a way what's the lowest officially and in effective way to actually measure our keto levels only if like super official why,
is using black and on amazon you can get a keto on meter and strips that you tell me to itself probably runs around fifteen to twenty dollars,
distribute a little bit more expensive there about five bucks a piece of shit if u can find them and then u also wanna make sure at times especially when they're trying to get an the ketosis.
I don't worry about measuring first thing in the morning because that's when our cortisol is up a little bit hi eric were trying to mobile i uh like a gin and two sugars um so.
In the beginning when you trying to get into ketosis we are often released keto.
First thing in the morning when we're trying to adapt can you use any different samples of tissue from the body to measure the silence of people that test using your and is there a saliva test what is that look like,
what are the saliva test only test ph and so i'm.

[23:27] Are are saliva is acidic so.
Using that is not the best meat or a urine samples.
When we are trying to adapt and get in to ketosis um b and a call that he died at the ocean.
The first thing that we are dumping is a steal as OT.

[23:51] And so we can get a false positive of being a dad.

[24:00] In the first couple of days because we're done because she is a hundred and all that's technically a keto i want to measure the IQ body so.
Hi if someone wants to use the other the urine strips i tell them we're a good.

[24:19] No five six days make sure you're drinking plenty of water so that your kambing the other the other bodies.
Because the real keep telling body that we use for fuel is a hundred and yes bitch yesss they're strict keto bodies on the c is staying but i dropped hey,
it's the BAH be that we actually want to make sure so we can see at times,
hey pause positive wrapping up of the of the coupons and if we see the drop-down and everyone gets a little nervous but interviewing glad you're actually measuring the,
the BHP i can't continue our story of is she here before we go into our house but it's introduced on a roll SLK are blood she's raising what we're getting into ketosis.
I want to go back to what you had said to because we have a standard american diet or sad it can be challenging for our metabolism to make this transition is that fair to say.
You are so far metabolism is conditioned to always using whatever we have weather it's a carb most common broadway
for a protein fat and then it can be challenging but can be some resistance your body is like okay we're trying to do this but we don't want you to like it
exchange rate and who likes change red said fuck you tell us more about that is that i know you mentioned the drug cp right and.

[25:45] I know for some people they are trying to get into ketosis but it can be tough tell us more about yeah so um.

[25:54] Look up ways to help increase the body's uh number one is a medium change request rides.
Medium change it will break down very very quickly in two bodies ugh,
how many change requests rates will also be very effective add increasing your bodies own ability,
break down fats in the keto bodies so the mc to do two things number one it a media source of fuel.

[26:29] Your body doesn't have to try to convert how do i get to ride into the tissues.

[26:35] Right yeah the other thing that it will do is it actually promotes,
and um and helps your body because it the medium chain it's a little easier to break down the liver doesn't have to work so hard,
search much much easier to raise your levels that way so im seizure are a really good important part of trying to get into ketosis hi armando volume
MC teaser and things like coconut oil so that's why you're coconut oil was the big craze right now i'm.
So that one day and then there's also st.

[27:16] Can you tell me when or what the color is cute on the tones in a pound or if you need and.
If you know that someone is having a hard time getting into ketosis and accurate would recommend the bones um.
Q raise the kitchen body level,
then we also had some empty with that to encourage our own bodies production of it and if we are being.
Compliance with with the protocol and we're not adding any carbs.
Sooner or later the body is going to start working through that adaptation and im start doing that so sometimes it can take a couple days sometimes it can take several weeks.
I was a very great and both in triathlon so i was doing um.

[28:12] Long distance iron man events ugh.

[28:18] Back in that day everything was about balancing blood sugar.
Make sure your blood sugar was just perfect and all of us all my clients and myself we always making sure we had enough sugar in are bloods and we actually.
Create a red and insulin resistance situation as an athlete wow yeah.
So there we were out after one hour and a half where we depleted our like a download we can only take an hour about two hundred.

[28:55] Two hundred calories two hundred fifty calories are carbohydrates in our what we were burning.

[29:02] Six to eight hundred calories in an hour.
So are you getting to the deficit and if you if you don't have the flexibility to burn the fat ratchet you just bought.
Show ohh,
it took me several weeks because that insulin resistance that i created myself because i was the person drinking the,
energy drinks i feel like the internet or something like that,
all day long because i have to keep my blood sugar and all i did was created as a negative situation is that those people who are athletes
worth it
just people who are in the gym three times week or their doing their pilots are there spin class or something like that but then they're at their desk eating,
energy bars,
they're actually creating that insulin resistance and so it could be a little harder to get into ketosis because of that so the exotic kittens are a great way to help,
gotcha.

[30:09] Yeah i can agree more i think the eggs is cute is the nc the switch the fats all of those are great tools to jest further help someone get into ketosis tonight,
sometimes i think of it this way if i do you have an example it now everyone's trying to go to have an indian get to ketosis like this kind of utopian concept in,
you know it's not hard enough its like i gotta do the same see she's i gotta do this exactly is BHP i gotta work so hard and then i get there right well.
Sometimes just continue are not even further.
Let's say you get there and then tacos through the keto flu dark because now you mention dental and send now.
You know you been working so hard to get into ketosis and what happens is part of that keto adaptation,
is that insulin levels start to really go a lot lower because we're not having all of these carb spikes and sugar spikes and so tell us the adaptation there.
Yeah yeah the keto flu it has been a talked about extensively online i'm sure and it's a very very simple situations.
When you're not eating carbs you're not producing as much insulin insulin.
Retain water yes show when we reduce insulin.

[31:33] We don't need the water so we dump the water when we dump the water,
we are also pulling out electro lights so because we're worth retaining so much fluid were also then natalie dumping that fluid but don't think the electro lights when we dump the electro lights.
Our blood pressure goes down and we feel like dirt so it's a blood pressure thing it's not a. it's not what you're saying that's causing a blood pressure thing not necessarily a blood sugar thing.
That that has been.
Almost my experience a hundred percent of the time that has long as we give our patients and electro lites.

[32:20] Ben.
That the insulin pump water bill still down the lights for sure bless long is your reply you've got everything that you need for your muscles and your organs to do check contract,
i am or what happens to the muscle so what our part to keep beating and nr mind to keep moving so it,
tell me it's purely,
intellectual issue now with the eggs is cute to you do you have a good amount of sodium in there,
right so right so that's fine but we also want to make sure that we're giving ourselves a full rea electro lights so i like the idea,
taking something like an electro light drink specifically with no sugar um.

[33:16] Adding that um i love using a magnesium in my drinks a increase.
You over three hundred metabolic processes but,
what i have found is if you're using the exact ones and your something like a metal relax i think it and more even simply just a pinch of himalayan sea salt,
add me your diet you make sure that you are getting.
Add good three to four thousand milligrams that is than than the keto flu will be almost nonexistent.

[33:54] I couldn't agree more i actually use the end are quite a bit sincere seminars i love the product there and,
what's your plan to release things that people should be using something like in durham vs the gatorade but have the sugars,
that are gonna push you away from key to access the event make that keto adaptation sell history more with yourself.
I think we have enough contacts your so far with your acting cuts
can you think of whatever listeners are gonna fall into that lifestyle or the body comp camp with your pillows here can you briefly just kinda gloss over the performance and clinic workers i know you work with alot of patience,
that have major health concerns i know you have,
i want to patients who are close in athletes but if you can just can i walk through there briefly but then look to spend a little bit of time in the body common lifestyle
yeah so when i look at the killer janet diet um it.

[34:50] It's been research pretty extensively hand and can be as flexible as you wanted to be so certain link there is the key to life style which might be more in line with.
The.
The low carb high fat low or intermittent fasting if we got the body composition there's an enormous amount of leather chair about.
Getting not metabolic flexibility so that we are earning our own body fat.

[35:22] And when we burning body fat for fuel we don't need to take in as much.

[35:29] As much calories in a lease for a period of time ugh where would i recommend someone doing the keto diet for weight management,
i will have them do that maybe for four to six months and then we cycle in and out.
The other two pillars besides lifestyle and body composition there's the clinical and then there's the performance for clinical.
Which i recommend it for my patients with traumatic brain injuries light congestion right,
i will use it for some of my patients who are male,
sync signs of early stage dementia i'm or some sort of cognitive impairment moderate comments empowerment i um.
I will use a ford got issues i will use it for both.
I work and issues to knock out all of the sugars i will i will use that clinic leave for the diabetes for sure is that is a slam dunk right there,
you can.

[36:40] Yo is chiropractors i don't know how it is in michigan but you were not allowed to say that we treat or cure diseases right but what i can tell you is that there have been type two diabetics,
i had several dozen in my office where there are clinical a type two diabetics and after going through a protocol um.
They don't have any of the bio markers that would diagnose them as a type two diabetic.
How ya doing so they are doing some,
ul good research on cancer for for some types of cancer that are certainly sugar dependent uh,
i will have patience where are they coming into a camp program a complimentary alternative medicine program so while they're doing,
are there chemo or radiation i put them on a keto diet they seem to do very well with that
i'm remembering your lack sure i'm banking on it right now even historical you said they were telling kids before they had a drag more medical model here italian man look just do this keto diet,
stop doing the keto diet when they had another pharmaceutical solution where is that was apple's COO so in the late eighteen hundreds,
um

[38:07] It was the diet of choice right eye i don't know if they actually call it that but it was definitely a high fat no sugar diet.
And in the nineteen twenties when i land came along um.
Day just realize that was much easier to add someone to take a pill that to alter their diet so the keto diet when somewhat underground,
although i was very very successful,
and now they are using it again because there are some people based on their text that the light doesn't work but mark finding that,
j k it works brilliantly some brain health it is very very.
Defective and they know now that we use to think that only a very few rude find source of sugar.
Twitter enter the brain through the blood brain barrier we now know that um.
The bring can be fueled up to seventy percent of its requirements can be fueled by keto know the reason why that's important,
is because as we age naturally and as we age in a healthy way.
The normal person lose fifteen or twenty percent of their.

[39:35] Find someone with some sort of cognitive impairment weather is dementia parkinson's alzheimer's.
They have a thirty percent reduction of ability do you sugar for the brain just the blacks.

[39:53] There is no reduction and the ability for the tones to pass the blood brain barrier can be elderly so.

[40:03] Who are the elderly it would be the number one.
I need a place for brain health love that is that gonna take us through their that's the clinical for sure on the performance side slam dunk.
Endurance athletes the kids and a diet is number one and the other reason is because with with the endurance athletes.
Even had what we called race pace most people are at no more than eighty percent of their max there full output,
are there if you could be in for keto os is up to eighty nine almost ninety percent of your vo two.
And still burning your own body fat so the importance of that for the endurance athlete we have something out here in california called the western states one hundred it's a one hundred mile run raise,
echoes from squad valley inn,
down to almost to sacramento all burn is the city so the amount of climbing a foot,
climbing is in the several thousand feet but they're doing this in fourteen hours,
i think me being faster and there in in one hundred percent keto so they're running this race on nothing other than.

[41:28] Water and salt is incredible and the reason is even needs high end athletes with six percent body fat.

[41:37] Add six percent body fat i send these guys may have still lol.
About thirty five house in calories to burn body fat.

[41:50] Add rice pastry might be running a hundred calories an hour so even after ten hours you only at eight thousand calories you're not even.
Twenty five percent.

[42:03] Remove your overall fat burning acid but that's only if u r in that state of ketosis and your medal directly flexible enough.

[42:15] The lower you take a shout.
The moment you take some sugars the body just says no i am going for that so much mark is it so much easier for me to get that and then you start shift,
hey guys just wanted to take a moment and remind you that this podcast is brought to you by the michigan family wellness clinic,
read lead and healthy environment families who can adapt to the stress in their life in order to build a healthy family we start by caring for one person at a time if this message resonate with you,
can i invite you to schedule an on-line appointment at michigan family wellness dot com and if your enjoying today's episode,
go ahead and share this podcast with someone else who can benefit from today's empowering conversation,
alright guys let's get back to today's episode it make you shake your head and just blow your mind in terms of all this knowledge out there there's always information everything which is good.
Then you see their human performance potential that comes from literally.

[43:16] What you said water insults his maker he is for me and makes me laugh is incredibles what the body can do and you know also makes me chocolate cuz i'll go to a nice restaurant and pay,
incredible dinner i love nice steak and a glass of red wine and just the experience out of.
Eating great food but then he kinda flipped out on the other end of things i was watching a documentary i believe on netflix its like with people who have just chronic health conditions that have been on results that the longest time they're going to this clinic in europe.
And they're paying to be there but all they do is starve them or they just don't allow them to eat any food.
So my question is how do you differentiate like a fast or intentional intermittent fasting is fasting for general health.
And what we might consider rude like ive clinical starving.

[44:11] Yeah so um there's not a lot of different tribes are because what are the easiest ways to get into ketosis.
Is the fastest nigga.

[44:23] Enjoy your body language and we've got about two thousand calories stored in our mussels oh fifteen 16 hundred calories and muscle cells for five hundred calories in our,
no deliver um when we sleep would burn maybe about forty percent fifty percent of that so we can wake up with.
Maybe about one thousand twelve hundred calories still all not daylight yet yeah so i'm.
Bye bye doing some sort of fasting.
We can we can continue to wind down and our bodies are going to other.

[45:09] Start burning fat until we leave our luggage in load let's say a couple times so what are the best ways to get into ketosis is just.
Nutritional eats fast right and i understand the therapeutic value of that is what the compliance for that is very very interesting yeah add um,
no overall long term you still wanna be able to get.

[45:36] Are there macro nutrients we still wanna get proteins and even erect in the state of fasting,
we well we will reserve our blankets in um prolonged fasting i should say we would reserve our like a do we reserve our,
so we don't break and muscle and prolonged fasting but i wish you want to be able to get.
Ummm protein and essential fatty some point and your motor that leo is in the sixties they got somebody who is over four hundred pounds they had him,
add nutritional e fast which meant water and a multi vitamin and that was it,
and they did that for over four hundred days after that there was no organ damage what so ever find anything for over a year,
over a year and no liver damage no kidney damage no heart damage not brain damaged and he just lived off the storage reserve is on body show ohh.

[46:45] Spurs would you do the keto diet diet you do wanna be some i'm gonna contradict myself first thing you wanna do
is just get into ketosis however you can would you like me eating a little bit more fat than yours do i need a little bit more calories the exact count quite a bit unsure and could you tell us,
when i put somebody on a calorie restricted diet because the goal is to burn your own fat you let me eat enough.

[47:16] What has to happen is the constant encouragement from someone like you to just let them know.
You're not gonna die yeah your your fine as long as you're hydrated and your generalized.
Yeah daniel cohen you bipolar you are going to be absolutely,
editor nine oclock at night i tell them at least trying at least twelve hours so if you stop eating at nine that night
try not to eat again until at least nine am the next day if you can make it longer awesome go for it then this kind of flies in the face of conventional wisdom to do with the whole idea of life
this is the most important meal today do you differentiate so if you have an adult or individual there a working professional and you know just stressed out so i would recommend intermittent fasting for them as i gotta lifestyle thing.
What about what about if you're just in high school like with kids do you also recommend that kid skip breakfast what is that look like.
Yeah it's funny because i just recently my high school kid has skip breakfast and i remember.
I remember my mom.

[48:46] Horse ing breakfast me and i remember eating it i just remembered i don't know why i just don't wanna eat i always feel for when i wake.
Me my kid just started doing that well but he does eat around.
Ten o'clock nigga just like this break in gold.
And they have a cafeteria and he's eating eggs and bacon is his first job first meal,
add danny has his lunch and then he has his after school snack before he goes into his sports and the other.
Seems to be doing pretty well and we have a yeah yeah oh well pins analyzer and.

[49:34] Okay staying when he's not losing muscle ugh i need the track and field and so it's a it's easy for someone like him to lose muscle throughout the.
Throughout the season so i so far it seems to be ok but it depends.
I need to patch the silly answer is it depends on who you are how old you are what i would i really want to make sure it.

[50:08] If parents are doing breakfast and i am fine with that that it that we are looking more towards or at least in LCH yes.
Show that we can see the brand absolutely love i love the ability of having eggs your the the simple ability.

[50:30] Ugh i cut very well but i can i can make an omelet and.

[50:39] Under seven minutes so if if we're can i have a breakfast to have some sort of protein.
What is the avocado in there if not dairy intolerant new or used cheese as a condom meant or some sort of goat cheese fine and you want to use some sort of um.

[51:00] Hold sour cream or other no fruit in your yogurt kind of thing that that.
That i think is is a great way to go,
and i got a link in the show notes here messaging access some great resources just helping people find those recipes that are keto bagels keto janet evening for gonna go dining outs to have more about keto adapter
i didn't think there's some great resources that were linked in the announcement post on our website here for you specifically going back to the carbs and getting that keto adaptation,
so you really trying to get people have less than fifty grams of carbs is that right but she can't really love it's not that he cant have
any carbs that right.
Try less than fifty grams of carbs is really low yes lol so what were talking about and the best way to do that and stay satisfied right because wicked wicked.

[52:01] I handful of berries and even though that's low glycemic um you're not gonna feel to satisfied from that sold the best way to stay satisfied is with your low glycemic index vegetables um.
You're christopher is vegetables your cabbage you brussels sprouts cauliflower broccoli things like that um.
Lol you're your basic salad stuff i love using a lot of sprouts you know like the arugula sprouted server or a sunflower sprouts in my salad um.

[52:35] So i have a big salad but not a lot of lettuce if i make a right i used things that are lower starch um.
And the simplicity of some species of protein is chicken beef fish am i.
I have stacked in my closet um a whole bunch of cans of sardines um.
Oh and all of oil in one and out.
If i just dont feel like ive had enough open up a can of those throw that on top of my salad that might already have something else um.

[53:17] Some other protein and i feel satisfied nikki she gone through the rest of the day do you think it's more difficult for women pay compared to men.
It of it does seem to be the case i'm interesting enough though women will benefit from.
Is slow as a fourteen hour intermittent fast man it sure that they get a better um,
result with a sixteen hour so they can actually benefit more from even internet fasting for a shorter period of time but because of hormone cycles and because of how.

[54:03] Add estrogen metabolism and thyroid are intimately related are the thyroid does like to use a little bit of glucose um,
because of that imbalance it does seem slightly harder how to do that but they can do it,
i love what you recommended to have been playing with the solat myself ever since our like first thing in the morning tall glass of water a little bit of apple cider vinegar,
i really find that helps me that good insulin response and just carry that mental clarity with me throughout the day until i choose too,
have any services important really,
i got great for people if first thing when you wake up in the morning guys just have a big glass of water with what you se at teaspoon or two of organic apple cider vinegar used anywhere from one to two tablespoon right yet,
can i use warm water.

[54:59] And then i use am i use the magnesium from the middle maiden relaxing and that that gives me the touring,
that helps my gallbladder start working better yet the thing about the apple cider vinegar is it has been shown to reduce the insulin response of food by
thirty percent friendly until they get a test with white bread.
Add a found that the response from wipro with thirty percent last when using apple cider vinegar so that's my first drink in the morning very first thing
warm even do a pinch of sea salt in um,
and then if i'm gonna have coffee l have coffee before i workout or something like that.

[55:48] My salad dressing what ever time i use salad dressing all i use is a little m. CT oil olive oil.

[55:58] Apple cider vinegar and salt and i am that's it and that's all you need you will find that when you throw that over the vegetables,
it will bring out as many flavors as if you had some very very fancy um salad dressing that you that you bought the shelf.
So once we do that now i got apple cider vinegar yen for my lunch which also reduces my insulin response.

[56:27] So that helps me stay in ketosis.

[56:30] And then usually my dinner meal i don't have the apple cider vinegar unless i am doing some sort of vegetables again i'm,
normally it some sort of warning vegetable his radio to cook it and throw all dresses lol little bit of mc to and some butter,
and and again some salt and that and that's my evening groove and i love everything your saying i just think there are such a health benefit that can be derived from.
Trying to take even just baby steps towards more of a keto adapted lifestyle in south

[2:15] Send me family is just that try not support system those people weather its your actual family or the family that you.

Accumulated your lifestyle and your life time but family to me is that support system that you can lean on any and all times so that's really important to me.

[2:34] Absolutely couldn't agree with you more i often say that as a theme on the podcast you really have to leave until support mechanisms that community.

Just another thing that we santa podcast is what is your favorite aspect of michigan as a michigan native i believe yes yes.

[2:50] Gosh there are so many exams but i would have to say is the seasons you were frozen right now currently.

But even through that link i just i love you season the experience at the end and i will have to say are beautiful.

Where are so fortunate to have those lakes and i appreciate them even more now that i am willing to buy thirty es.

[3:11] Absolutely i think its a well deserved saying what you look at different places across the country i think there's a lot of recognition for the.

Great lakes here in this beautiful state that we have what's your point,

it is a little rough when is the frozen tundra right now yeah it's perfect that being said jessica out like i had said earlier your wellness you have a degree in holistic nutrition but your also just really great.

Add empowering and educating inspiring the community of the mother is here in south eastern michigan tell us more about your story and what more a.

[3:48] Will it thank you first of all i appreciate that and,

hey just a quick snapshot of my background i didn't grow up on a farm in southern california.

Yeah for my own food i grew up here in michigan and the midwest.

[4:03] A very traditional midwest up bringing and through that experience i think people eventually when they find health.

They find it to experience that day how i m looking for a solution that potentially.

You know your regular traditional medicine doesn't help so for me it was

you know in my early twenties i have gone directly to school to study biochemistry i wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon because i was an athlete and my life trying to buy it let me in ten days and needed surgery and type always really appreciated it.

[4:35] That format is sending a billion fix the body in the bone since i love that unit the spine the strength i feel like so much of health and wellbeing as you would know or getting an expert in.

Com from just our bodies and everything underneath and so.

[4:51] I'm a couple years into my bio can major i didn't decide to shift gears because something didn't set right with me at the time and.

[4:59] I knew that wasn't right path to go down so id like a hard to read it ended up studying.

Journalism public relations with a minor in communications and after graduating from university i wanted to add the entertainment industry and i did entertainment PR.

Really fast paced celebrity isn't very click lifestyle and.

No clemson glamour i was working till two in the morning and eating dinner at two am when we get home to toronto at five am and i would wake up and have to back in the office to collect news clip ins in and

through that experience i quickly was burning myself would i know someone that with milk

frappuccino lactase and all the really bad things that weren't serving the end i would notice these panic attacks coming in on anxiety and.

How is the young healthy

female so why was this happening in the first correlation i found was thru eating meat and i do i get back to eating really poorly sourced meat

and so at that time i didn't completely plant-based and i was vegan for a many years i was ravi getting beer and michigan which was very difficult,

nati cooks boots for a long time and um i did that just to try and find.

[6:14] What was happening over the mechanics my body what i need to do to get myself to optimal wellness and if i was actually plant-based for almost a decade until i got pregnant with my son

and i noticed my body was craving foods and meets and bone broth sell through this journey though what i found was,

i have a call in and i definitely had a connected helping people so i knew that i needed to go back to school and i studied holistic nutrition.

Can i choose technician because i knew that it was more than just what's on your plate i knew that the foods were deep in you that,

the connection to our spirit our food is not community which holistic nutrition and braces all of that was worrying meaningful connections and finding your try weather at b.

No other wellness professionals weather it's busy miles which happens to be my focus in area and through that you know i did,

embark on a different journey and just as up within the last year and i like my full time career to be a stay at home mom.

Can i know eventually i would want to do something i did know to b so quickly.

I did start my journey in september and it's january now i just hit thirty five thousand views on that time so i think it was the right choice.

Alfred will so many things to honor and acknowledge their jessica i mean first of all just thank you for being vulnerable of sharing your story.

[7:38] Congratulations with your family how your sign becoming pregnant that's a challenge in itself

these days which made talk about more later here yet making that transition from being a very driven motivated highly productive individuals especially a woman in today's culture and then transitioning into the home life which i think i talk to my wife about this and talk to it.

Patience at the office who are mothers it's oftentimes.

There's the tension lol they want to do both or they want to be able to do everything at home or its like i've gone through all this education in my life and i work so hard and then.

Now my employer is just not interested and value in family so i just tell us a bit more about me but that transition was like for you what motivated you and then,

if anyone willing to check out jessica is instagram page that have stories they can follow along with your life where i really enjoy,

just the way that you're so open and share everything you are doing to elevate the lifestyle of other mothers in the area for hotels more about that.

[8:43] Yeah so you know i was thinking i was in a career as working for a healthy snack company actually kind healthy snacks but i'm sure most people are very familiar with and what kind of six years i'm not i was in a very

senior level role sell dream job and then i got pregnant with my data well.

I guess i should rewind before i got pregnant with my son i did struggle to get pregnant with my son and i went very fast paced life.

[9:10] Again i'm traveling and airplanes and i was definitely great at that time so i thought its blades

this is so much more than just food riots there is lifestyle that is the environment there is that family element i'm there's a lot that goes into that so don't want to become pregnant with my daughter.

I know i was really happy in my current workplace by the level that i was at there was no way to scale back there was no way for part time there was no way to not be on a flight every other week travelling and i was just

the thought i was overwhelming and too much and then there was a little bit of a health scare that we had

when is party with my daughter they had found a cyst which is very common but they did find a cyst on her brain and it was really mitxari nice so i knew.

I'm no the medical terminology and not moment i call when i said i'm not going back,

do you have swear i'm not doing that it's just the stress while i'm doing that

family is most important and i knew that and that moment that it was like a clothes box so i was grateful enough to be on to make that choice

stay home with our two children and my employer was was wonderful about it but there was no way to there was an important slate way to do both and you think you can have it all that maybe just not at the same time not.

Kind of the place that i'm coming to.

[10:35] I think we live in such a stressful culture is stressful life style that it makes it really difficult to get.

High quality dense nutrition.

Into our bodies into ourselves that we can just break down a simulated move through us answer these that some of the things that we talked about here the contact.

And i just from watching your videos from watching your instagram stories things like that.

You really enjoy doing that for you show women like hey this is what i'm doing think about doing how you can do this yourself tell me more about that.

Yeah so when i decided to kind of start you turn key it was more of that

overwhelmed because i couldn't keep up with the messages i was getting so close during the instagram stories i had friends from high school reached out as me a friend from college current friends emailing me texting me all the time all hours of the night

asking questions because of my nutrition background in medical background they wanted help me get no where starts and i turn to my husband

video i love this platform i think i need to start something simply as a means to an end because i can't keep up with the messages i don't ignore people,

i want to have a place to send them to you.

And so i use my instagram stories is that you know kind of aggregate all the common questions i get help people start because that's the biggest question i get is,

where do i start and how do i start.

[12:05] I think feeling alone or feeling like i talk to mom to say this all the time they feel they want to eat healthy with their kids and social pressures and being out with friends and school events and social events like.

[12:18] There's just all this pressure to cheat and not eat well answer they tell me they feel like they're still under isolated inside thank.

[12:26] Things like you're doing me a really helps women feel like i am not the only one you know i can do this i can figure out different solutions that are officially affected ben sustainable.

[12:35] Can i get one thing i'll look at with just consistency over a long period of time that is silky it's it's great to do something for one day or a week or two we expect.

[12:45] Especially me a lot of women what shes talking about releasing weight just to feel better than just a few more productive.

Have a better mental emotional state if your gonna try and release some weight you gotta be doing something consistent for a long period of time what you're not.

[12:59] Yeah i've got a lot of at on that some of them pull in behind

end of omnis space time and it's very common to right now in january detox write it on pinterest to travel to every state tax and and and,

i love you talk state but i think it needs to be in micro doses everyday

i feel blessed every morning wake up having warm water with lemon that will serve you exponentially more than doing a ten day cleanse that you're just cannot maintain that lifestyle,

tell my cousin you know the first thing when you wanna do it specially when they want to get pregnant or after they had a baby i wanna lose weight

ray and i don't even cook that number it to me and how i feel how my clothes fit you know

my strength and energy and soak it to then its a lifestyle change what is one small step at a time it is what i called the crowd out method

so you want to have those pancakes and waffles with your hands in the weekend let's just make them healthy let's help me find them and crowd the best quick and your gonna see the pounds

and it's gonna be a long term change for something that you're just gonna cycle back in and go back and double tap.

I got a lot of questions about which diet is right for me whether it's accurate yellow carb high protein that.

[14:20] And how much people can meal plan and prep and all these things what's your professional opinion against specifically we're talking about.

The woman who is in her thirties with a couple of kids just as stressed out mom and she's wondering what she can do to have really consistent.

What sugar levels and not feel so starving you know she tries to go for a longer period of time or something like that.

[14:43] Yes i would.

Yeah i think that there are certain diet and do really well with certain populations in certain ranges and also the baseline of where somebody is starting and.

[14:56] You go to your primary care doctor and he said i don't feel that great and they will you know you just need to lose some weight and

just work out a little bit more and that's that's not always the solution and that the cutout not that is

is my favorite way to do an aviation it's kind of a lemonade maybe it is a lemonade and process grains and see how you feel lemonade that quarter and a genetically engineering maybe it is reducing your meat intake seeing how you feel and they're going from there adding things back in and i think

that's not cute

it's a very popular i've done it i benefit from a keto diet i'm alive people do especially feel some blood sugar issues that you're somebody who needs to kind of reset your

go johnny could really help also so could intermittent fasting and intermittent fasting doesn't have to be as scary as

stop eating at six PM any don't need to get to eight o'clock in the morning but i'm not a fan of a long term diet for

consecutive months so you want to try keto and see how they feel if it serves you if it makes you feel good you can maintain that to me

the best style that you can do is a tablet plans on your plates i say eighty percent plants a small portion of protein and a small portion of carbohydrates in that doesn't have to be,

your weed your gluten in it could be from a potato from india and i love you know.

[16:25] What about squash this time of year i love root vegetables that you're all of those wonderful sources of carbs hey.

[16:34] No that's actually jessica thank you for that i'll respond with two things yourself.

I love intermittent fasting i recently died n do it because it's way to check it out for myself to see if i can recommended for patients and everything and,

in terms of timing of when we eat something really important what we're getting to.

But i really think there's something about timing are neurology timing when we eat during the day.

When is the chiropractor this really gets into the deep neurology of digestion of our parents sympathetic nervous system because when we eat more stressed out.

That's really not helping a serving is and it's creating.

Bad insulin responses in some sensitivity and i see me and all these three things here the thing on mission about the keto diet if you're a lady and it works awesome.

[17:25] I have seen that personally with my observations into really great firm answer when men can't starve themselves and not a bunch of carbs day just

lean out and trim out cuz they're like alright spartan warriors record.

[17:41] Women it's a little bit more stuff sometimes because as a woman feels like where the nutrients where's the food where's the store.

[17:50] Essentially it's.

Hey let's build out lets actually storm conserve in case we get pregnant type saying verses let's just leave and send out things like that so i'm not saying that everyone.

Hey historically speaking.

How far are ladies there is much more towards that verse now if your training if your exercising and just really activate think it can be great i'm a personal fan of some nutritional lifestyle tools.

Have you heard of data hi i just little things that can help shut the body into ketosis.

Where has it can be kinda difficult to get there naturally pick an era long time along time you had suggest some facts there but.

In ketosis you know sometimes for women who have really unstable blood sugar levels so it can be a great re-set

are there to do a quick reset because if you never in their life they're reaching for orioles every night at nine o'clock at night so for them to have to follow that diet and kinda for reset your body and the disk is the man that we speaking,

is really scary and women these days and it's masquerade in as.

Depression one in four women and child is currently on antidepressants effects that has opportunity um is really scary and the fact that we are medicaid.

[19:12] Willy unix group or a human population right now in a way and we don't have a ton of long term study is the CEO and.

Display sami is sometimes can be the reason why somebody was feeling depressed and anxious because they're blood sugar levels are so irregular that its masquerade

schizophrenia it's masquerade as public attacks is your hair falling out and you go to your mum,

find your regular doctor visits function functional medicine doctor and they say like ohh you know you're losing your harry cat sleep at night feeling stressed like

you know let's get on antidepressants do not checking your thyroid your hormones and so i do think kind of like starting going back to basics weather is so hot out method whether it's

add more plants weather is ketosis regardless of what it is and

alexa you're choosing your financing that serving you and you know the population of women that do benefit from ikea and it diet are those that really need a lot of help in reset most of woman in this day and age can benefit from daniel@fastee.im

crowding up the strip grains crawling out so i especially that so i'm not,

reset in the plastics in your home the makeup that were you thinking it of the list can go on and on and this is where it gets,

overwhelmed for what i need to start hey guys just wanted to take a moment and remind you that this podcast is brought to you by the michigan family wellness clinic.

[20:41] Read live in healthy environment families who can adapt to stress in their life in order to build a healthy family we start by caring for one person at a time if this message resonate with you,

can i invite you to schedule an online appointment at michigan family wellness dot com hey and if you're enjoying today's episode go ahead and share this podcast with someone else who can benefit from today's empowering conversation.

Alright guys lets get back to today's episode.

And that's why it's great to have a resource like this podcast like yourself to in order to guide these women because it can be so overwhelming.

And i think that can lead to a lot of anxiety and stress and depression like you're mentioning in much more of the mindset where.

[21:23] You probably dont have a deficiency in prozac it's not that you're lacking in sri.

It's that you got dysfunctional adaptive physiology and you have to do things naturally because as we know where jessica those kinds of medications i mean,

i'm already talking with people who are under twenty years old.

[21:43] And there is medications me know the long term effects me people go through withdrawl if they are trying get off them which is a big deal i wanted to ask me more about.

Can you talk through what this this is a big deal with anxiety depression thank.

Can you tell us more about your experience and what you did practically to overcome that high so i definitely after,

getting off me i noticed rains it and when i would have it in my pants by hand with t-mobile and it was so bad i couldn't hold on to it without shaking so,

i noticed that can directly from eating poorly source.

Animal protein i do it animal protein so i just played that out there because im not saying everyone needs to go rock but i noticed my triggers

and also a strict grains and so was not insured grades so once i kind of got all of that out of my life is that also amped up my yoga practice to my spiritual practice because all of those

find that

family that try that you open every podcast you open every podcast with this and i think its so important is fighting that feeling of community that helped slowly but surely my anxiety one day it was kind and,

it wasn't forever because after had my son i hadn't heard of postpartum anxiety and it came back and it said no.

[23:01] I managed to found the root cause but i know what is the anxiety

chef's overtime and your life style changes different trigger is the weather its calling through your phone all the time and the anxiety

x to be on top of everything comparison syndrome always trying to be like everyone in your scream

and i say that all the time but hey lifes focus on doing that in my instagram stories its age

this is what you see you too but this is really what's happening in my kitchen is a mess on the other hand it out because i haven't had a chance of two young children running around.

So i'm through fine in that regards i did notice that i there was a deeper.

There's something deeper going on with my anxiety add this is where you go in for your postpartum visit at six weeks after having a child and you take something not.

Kind of work second cosmo magazine quiz and i still want to check how you're feeling add it's that simple.

[24:01] Where medicaid women based on that quiz and that postpartum anxiety and work it's a very specific group of women and so

one thing that i think we need to focus on that auto immune disease is the menu different triggered postpartum after you have attacked you give birth so traumatic experience to the body which travel with no.

[24:22] Can sometimes end many times trigger autoimmune diseases and so i don't think that were checking women constantly and on a consistent basis for the motor cycle is

work were not three levels for

what is asking me to take a casa magazine quiz and from there will be seen on postpartum anxiety and depression jessica if someone is struggling with achieving those comprehensive lab.

Paano specifically so that is something that we doing here through the michigan family womens clinic so we have an NPI number and we can't.

That individuals that mother that lady with those comprehensive blood testing if they're struggling to get it from the internet or endocrinologist MD.

Because we need medical necessity in things like that so just want to say that a little.

Slide for another service that we offer here at the connect what's your point there to just got mean i couldn't agree more with the autoimmune conditions are just sky rockets.

And one thing i wanted to ask you about what i wish your pregnancy with your anxiety you are also receiving some products and so as a chiropractor a major fan super biased but i wanted to ask you.

[25:32] Because this goes into movements she mentioned yoga and exercises the chiropractor adjustment is literally movement for your spine and i wanted to ask if that had any.

[25:43] What's that for you or if you can look back on that and be like hey.

I felt a different one i was adjusted or this that the other what was your observation yeah so i think that director the struggle i found that i had a really you know add in some.

Great food and supplements and seven days are always the answer i want to preface that um,

but i added a lot of great foods i pay attention to my fertility and i know is that i was getting a lot of adjustments and there was certainly pulls.

My body specifically your my adrenal glands were usually exceptionally store and so my chiropractor at the time was doing a lot of address.

Casino floor and i think i had been lying to my masculine energy and i wish it out in the workforce and trying to do it all and focusing on my masculine energy and he said to me that my interview notes and mike

close enough self down and threw open in the lining my spine line and i'm kind of like you would know that but i would just like the dinner logical ability for my brain to be

the pathway to be open through the spine thru that through three months of very consistent talking once a week chiropractic care for three months straight which.

[27:03] That's a lot of it out for people are you do that alot are you don't know i was so committed to it and through that.

I just noticed that my entire energy in my ability to move through that three of my yoga practice

change likely sorry that's my security system is my yoga practice changed dramatically as i was well into my chiropractor.

I'm so glad to hear that that makes complete sense i hope people were tracking my sad if i were to add anything i really need your flight

it's all about the brain communicating better with the body when you talk about the lumbar plexus nerve the sacred places of nerves all of that's going to our god's.

Organs josh and even darken the reproductions of the uterus prostate and everything down there.

So when someone is struggling with fertility any kind of pain during pregnancy low back pain morning sickness things like that.

The simple act of removing the neurological interference via the chiropractor adjustment is profound and phenomenal articulate one more.

[28:06] Mechanism if you will need the actual movements of the spine of the giants.

Releases and end of a new trans men called yeah yeah heard of itself what i'm trying to do at the michigan family want disconnect here is elevate the profession from more than just

popping pray it will minister but you actually how can we find your nervous system increase your.

Paris sympathetic to decrease your send with fedex and just help yourself up so late

absolutely and i love that because you know right now no auto immune based out pacey our ability to diagnose but i think that through chiropractic care will allow the body to function

no way that was always my dick function what's the limit more about prenatal nutrition and nutrition during pregnancy what would be jessica is the major components or nutrients

for that season of life that period of life because as we know it can be really tough.

When were you trying to conceive or even during that season of pregnancy making sure we have enough of the proper nutrients and good enough nutrition both macros in my gross would love to hear your thoughts on that.

[29:20] Yes that's what are the first things that i would say to women who are trying to.

[29:25] Can you see if there considering is to get your thyroid checked out and see if you i love you guys offer that's incredible because it's hard to find a functional medicine doctor.

And.

A regular doctor who offers the flap that we're looking for many attempts are very surface level and i can return the normal range and i could use a little bit offended so i think that would help out.

[29:47] The exact opposite road that you wanna go on twenty one st to conceive so we really want to check the thyroid and.

Women currently in our space in my age group is under attack and it's,

it's a burden of the products that are off gas and that candles that were very inappropriate that were spray you know the foods that were either have been sprayed in the plastic that were drinking out of network

ian out of its very very scary and thyroid and liver are doing their best trying their hardest

j detox and keep my body alive but it's just not happening and we're out pacey net so the first thing that you can do is you can just,

it rained all and i try to make it as simple as possible for people

eat the rainbow and delete the same thing every single day and that's hard to do for myself cannot do it because i get a ride in the same solid order in on the same salmon recipe you really want to mix it up when you want it mixed up.

[30:47] Your nutrients so that you're getting all of your macros and mike rose from all of the foods that are out there so i was hit the first thing that we can do it

kinda get those screen.

Get stripped grains and not talking about your self that's why your sprouted grains so beautiful and you definitely wont have them in and women who are pregnant,

you need the grains your body means that your body needs to take that energy you're growing a human but i would encourage you to

get this idea your diet get the strip greens out of your diet get the high tide your diet get that far is fishers i get that you know

antibiotic chicken out of your diet eat clean as possible

traditional food think about what your grandparents eight and it's close to that as possible and it's enough get your pastor his eggs tried it local trade focus on the foods that are high in the middle

avocados are high in fat your ass that butter is

i would encourage women to eat those what type of food when i wanna can see if i can rearrange so many great things there are guys if you're listening this go ahead and hit that.

Rewind fifteen seconds rewind thirty seconds cuz there was a lot of great information there that i think you guys should really read listen to.

[32:01] I especially just like all of the hype nutrition density foods colleen is one of my big ones there fir nutrition during infertility in pregnancy i love you discussion on the road and actually wanted to go into a little bit of a,

helping women connect with you guys can just,

take both hands right underneath your job on pretty much is high as you can go to your fascination with bones and me start to feel the high in bone it's actually based bonus flooding.

It's only bone that is not attached particularly with another bounce that kind of first then you feel there in the neck and then this is actually what i do,

as part of our manual palpitations i already examine it it just it's remarkable to me when i'm talking with a lady who's going in for a fire evacuation.

And the physician never did.

Emmanuel already examples that it's just a simple it so easy thing would just lost this whole mindset of being able to touch people safely so he starte there up at the bone right underneath the job

you slowly work your way down eventually you come to all a little bit of a wider part of the throat in the next.

[33:10] Send those to you can a flush the parts there right by me below your adams apple if you well.

Is the actual style red wine itself there's a right side in the left side in this little thing in the center that connects you called the smith's that's not so much important but.

You can really start to do if you can't pay your rent you can feel if it's an error an wont be or if it's more soft inflatable and this can give you some insight into you.

How is my thyroid actually function it really should be soft and playboy here feeling now just feeling grouchy so i will leave in the greater belt i don't see that time.

We do you live in michigan which are soil is new train depleted specifically i'm.

[33:53] I don't have a discussion there but when i put in for your thyroid is going to start to change its size and function,

versus its adaptive physiology there is not one of the things i love to start doing just to help people get a sense of.

Where the ideas what's going on right side vs left side and then i honestly jessica if if there needs to be additional imaging done i love ultrasound.

[34:18] I always tell people especially if they going for imaging with extra for like a cervical spine x-ray do they need to.

Think about shielding the road somehow i know it's tough.

[34:30] Yes there are certain tissues and our bodies are is our reproductive organs are get me these things are very radio sensitive me don't want to be a loving them with extra dose.

That being said sometimes we do need to make a referral out for more imaging for the thyroid i mentioned ultrasound and we also do a lot of what testing to really figure out what's going on with the order itself and i think this is a really good topic that

applies to a lot of women especially when they have symptoms.

But the labs come back normal and dr said that's all you had your crazy are they just brush him off so harris falling out of energy and your body weight but here in the normal range and.

[35:11] I love the connection not being able to know where it is two point two eight to be able to empower women women have.

[35:20] Necesitan this is it right now if given over a lot of the power of your body whether you want to control to a doctor

we disconnect her body and your the first thing i'm saying your fertility journey is it okay to be their body temperature taker temperature every morning know your cycle

take that empower me in your body you know your body that we are the experts on your cycle and your body when you go to your doctor you will like you know my pill with every twenty eight days before distant power in ourselves and i love that

being able to feel the non working thyroid and being able to know your fertility know these things are in power rain on a deeper level and then then we know it.

Yeah but the ability to feed the brain and the body connection

israel we all know this is real and it's mind over matter and so taking that into your own hands is really important and there's a lot of really great use supplementary should we start with food and accomodation cuts like you sad

arse oil is depleted and people say the challenge me about supplemental term.

[36:22] I try my best i just found this weekend when i eat today because i get the sexy supplement question everyone's know the quick fix to the supplement and let me tell you.

[36:32] There's no quick fix whatever.

I eat very balanced meal but i'm not perfect meals three times a day at three hundred sixty five so i do need to supplement with that oil and for our thyroid barley grass juice powder in spirit who are you

power house says and if

if women can do and i have a feeling a video on what not to do it shameless plug back i have a video on how i was able to get.

[37:02] You can see if any progress on the first try once i got all of this into practice

i have a video with i can send you the link if you want to add into the show now it's i would love for people to check that out because it's really simple tips and barley grass juice powder and hawaiian spell are so powerful for art

diorite and andesite you can take these they are stats nine

a simple man that you're taking it from the ground at something that you can add an every single day and green shoes in the sprinkler and everyday

you know what is a promise you if your dedicated to a twenty eight days' notice your energy when no yes your so right that's cool right you know what it is

that land in there

the electricity in the balance that's the one thing people say like my fingers when starting a little bit faster and you know the density of it

i feel so selfish its been hydrated and also the way that people explain its me and have to a great just a simple adjustments and no supplements

going back to the chiropractic side of things too just in the neurology the innovation of the road from the cervical spine from the brick yard access.

[38:12] Major major major changes and improvements can be seen just by restoring proper range of motion in proper alignment.

Soooo that part of the body specifically with al-amin.

A lot of ladies lot of women especially carry tension in there shoulders and so who are just getting everything cleared out there is just really helpful especially for their stress levels too.

You mentioned like that the magic supplement the special supplemental at that time that i like to use as pants or like the only thing that cures everything.

Because i had this crap for my patients and that's like a lux there's nothing out there people love to talk about tibor and i can't like that

all these great things which are fantastic can help let the fruits be thy food and leaves behind madison red black the reds beat that medicine right however i would say if there was one,

for me it would be sleeps i'm always asking your patience.

Are you having a good night's rest can you take a nap in the middle of the day can you even have good bowel movements are you doing great number one number two things like that.

Because that's so important to me as a chiropractor because those paras sympathetic nervous system function.

When were stressed out and sympathetic stress through the roof you're not gonna fall asleep your cortisol is gonna be up through the roof.

Can you got to be about that's what your body heals that's what are sales turnover is one sleeping but if not sleeping.

[39:34] That's not happening so don't sleep is free you don't have to pay for it but they're can be such greater things along with chiropractic adjustments that can really help us get a good night's rest.

[39:44] Absolutely i agree is the

i joke with contractor that when i take my son in for an adjustment is my favorite de casi sleep so that you're speaking to women in ten moms about the sleep spray and every time i post a video that include sleep i was kind of chocolate and i

posted a video about it my favorite tips to combat stress and sleep is number one and number one lasts because

i feel like a fraud like that has no clothes and i couldn't find video clips night before i was with my children legitimately from one until four in the morning straight pot.

[40:21] I took a nap i had had my son up at school had to take a nap i call my mom to come over so i can lay down for forty five minutes because i can't function without sleep and yes i suppose to sleep in the sun goes down i'm

should i go to bed early and i know i'm in bed many nights by eight forty five at night because i recognize that my daughter is your receipt and she's gonna wake up at two in the morning to feed so if i go to bed at nine or nine thirty that gives me a really good stretch yourself

you know the dishes and all that important your sleep is the most important so getting to bed early if that's what did you have to go to bed when your kids go to bed,

not something that's a choice you can make it sat for optimal health at one thing i agree with that one saying the issue.

Is free and it's sleep with jessica i am not a mother so it's sometimes difficult for me to connect with this thing but i just expressing the comments and the thoughts that i here.

From others and women in our office and one of them is just feeling guilty about being so tired and so chronically fifty.

[41:25] That there taking naps during the day they're missing out on these precious moments.

Whether it's with newborns infants or even there kids but maybe a bit older and there is this feeling of this pressure.

[41:38] How do you cancel or advise when was that in terms of mindset thing do you do,

you get into that hoe like a mental side of things with lexi così magari flex is in counseling or do you pretty much keep it with a nutrition in the lifestyle.

[41:53] So i think that will all that fit within my lifestyle big he is.

[41:58] I find that i know for myself and when i'm not practicing i'm what i preach that i feel resentful right now

sleep and i feel guilty and i feel short fused i feel all the things that you don't want to feel as a mother you want to feel excited and happy and i also feel those comparisons is like in paris and really crepes no i'm looking instagram and i

i look back and say i'm projecting onto them because

i'm not taking my own self care my hands and i'm not taking control of that so the first step that i take it.

We gotta ask for help writing with conditioners women to do it all we can do it all rights and do not let yourselves but really.

When you were never left alone with the baby.

[42:44] We were raising babies after all we were in our homes and apartments for eight hours alone with the baby those things never happened until now so,

we are asked to raise children the way that we did a hundred years ago in a way that has never been done before so first i meant to ask for help.

I missed saturday if you need to take an hour nap you need to do that for you and your children if you need to go to yoga if you need to go get your adjustment is.

[43:13] Two weekends ago i went and i had my nutrition response therapy testing for my chiropractor and i had all of that done and how to reset for myself for the new year and i took two hours when i got my adjustment.

I had my levels checked i had my muscle tested i have all of my new protocol but your by protocols secondary to my sleep,

my hydration my nutrition all of those your first and then my supplement and you know it second to that but you know i do have to take care of myself and getting adjusted i'm not doing my yogurt

every morning i meditate for ten min and my daughter wakes up i meditate with her there and it's not perfect

what have to do it for self care is huge can't agree more about your plain about community and not just people taking care of each other and how

when we do things differently than we did under ten years ago our friends from church actually had this woman just delivered her seconds and so she went for her follow up visit with her doctor and when the person doesn't always do you feel sad

recorded and she was able to stay without hesitation just wondering yeah speak eyes.

[44:18] We do this is one example i know a lot of communities do some other things in terms of meals right so it can be difficult to prepare a meal for your family especially when you're trying to do things all authentic traditional easter to have it be healthy.

So we have these like online scheduling program is that just people rotate preparing a meal me bring it over to them.

Add ernie specific days and times and then whenever fits best with your you know she's vegetarian and sell meeting their nutritional needs one way that community helps a mother,

especially with her second because that transition from one to two you can be on a big one from what i'm told essentially sale.

That's beautiful that's beautiful in that she has that and it no woman will probably not since it's an apple in cali that lunch should i expect from experience so that's how my credit coach um.

I don't take clients currently at this specific you talked about our flight i'm currently not seeing clients i have people asking me i'm live but i'm trying to help a larger platform right now and help um

marvin not that one i want to get back to that but that's how is people is selfcare and really

taking care of yourself enough to say this cuz i'm in speaking with you but

when i go see my chiropractor i have to come into the office and see you i'm really excited i would love to help let's do only and hour away hey.

[45:44] We have to do it because i noticed my sleep

would you compare george smith and my sleep is so much better and i have my muscle testing done and i know what that peek under the hood and if i can get a blood panel right now if a woman you know your primary care doctor so you can get a blood panel because your nearest your hormones are off,

go find a chiropractor can look and give you that snapshot of this

set your primary care doctor can't give you right now because that is just as important in you're gonna get more information from them from now on your regular primary care doctor can't keep you there gotta run deeper more in

intensive and base of test in a way that's gonna give you are great

turn snapshot an integer and a consistent until what is interest rate on your adrenal glands are working really hard and your projects or level where can i get two on and natural

remedy for that and also on a diet a lifestyle that supports,
